Kid’s class March 6th, 2021

This class was a study of Berthe Morisot 1841-1895 who was a very prolific painter in impressionist style. She was born in France and was the first female to exhibit her paintings at the Salon in Paris. Mary Cassatt later joined her as the second, and they became great friends. This was a great ground breaking for female artists as before this, women were not considered equal to men as painters.  They certainly overcame this stigma as both their paintings are worth millions.

The kids really enjoy these mini lessons with the old masters and I enjoy sharing as public schools seem to be omitting our history concerning art.
