Patti is a forty year resident of South Point, OH and has been painting professionally since 1999. Her passions are portraits, painting from life and from photos, using the Old Master’s style in oils. She also enjoys painting landscapes and still life, incorporating cherished antiques into the requestor's commissions.
She has won many awards locally including “The Message” which won Best of Show at the Ironton Art Association exhibition. She exhibits locally at Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce, Huntington Museum of Art, Portsmouth Museum of Art, Ohio University, Bistro Reasturant and The French Colony in Gallipolis. She owns and operates her own gallery in Huntington, WV.
She offers oil painting lessons in her studio, both private and groups, ages six to ninety-six. She also travels for classes to other locations, even in other states. For the kids, she feels a special need to offer lessons in art appreciation of the Old Master's works since this history and appreciation is diminishing in our public schools. Every class is preceded with a study about one of the Old Masters reflecting their works in the lesson that day. She has an Open Studio on Fridays at noon, Monday evenings, Tuesdays and Wednesdays at noon for adults and Thursdays for private classes by appointments also Saturday classes for kids.
She encourages everyone to check out the hottest new form of entertainment in the tristate area called "Brush It Up". It is a party where you invite some of your friends to her studio or your location and paint your masterpiece along with her. She will show you step-by-step how to paint a beautiful piece of art that you will take home at the end of the evening. No commitments or talent needed. Suggestions to think about would be the ultimate party favor for a child's birthday party, bachelorette parties, bridal showers, holiday parties, baby showers to decorate the nursery, housewarming parties to decorate the new home, and other special occasions. If you are looking for something completely different, you will definitely enjoy this! Grab a friend or two and come ready to relax and unwind. Be ready to explore your creative side!
