Peter Max is a German-American artist best known for using bright colors in his works and was one of the main artists to develop pop art in the 60s. The kids enjoyed learning about his use of acrylics to achieve those but they used pastels to accomplished this art. A medium we used for the first time in this class. Peter is still alive and mainly selling his art on cruise ships and in various art galleries.
Wonderfully colorful paintings. I love pastel artwork. I hope your students did too and will want to do more.
